The Tools of Coaching
Course Outline

DURATION 1 Day
PREREQUISITES None
WHO'S THIS FOR? This one-day course is designed for anyone who is interested in the art of coaching, either as a life coach, business coach or manager wanting to develop team performance.  It is aimed at those who may have some fairly limited understanding of what coaching is, but feel that they would benefit from not only developing their understanding of coaching and coaching frameworks, but also from grasping the practical tools of coaching and applying these to affect change in others.
WHAT'S THE POINT?

The fastest growing area within training and development or personal development is coaching.  Coaching enables individuals to view their problems from a number of different perspectives, creating options, positivity and tapping into individual motivation for change.  People who have received coaching are significantly more likely to take action and change what is not working for them than those who are left to their own devices (CIPD Survey, 2005).  By attending this workshop, you can begin to access some of these highly-effective tools and make a real difference to your ability to coach others.

WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME? In the workshop, you will be challenged to consider the role of coaching as a development tool and how it differs from other forms of personal learning or development.  You will be introduced to a number of practical and easy-to-use coaching tools and frameworks to enable you to quickly and effectively begin to coach others.  In addition to this, however, you will be introduced to the necessary mindset and interpersonal skills that make excellent coaches effective.  Through practice and observation, you will develop the foundations that will enable you to use the tools of coaching to great effect with others.
